Volunteers


Our Recreational program will not work without our volunteering parents. We require each family to have at least one adult volunteer for at least one home swim meet. Below are descriptions of each volunteering opportunity.

Team Parent

Requires one parent per age group, per gender. Parent is responsible for writing the swimmers # on arm. The event # is supplied by the coach. Gathering swimmers to ensure they get to the heat benches on time.

Timers

Must be able to operate stop watch and record time. Be able to stand for either entire 1st half or entire 2nd half.

Stroke Judges

All Stroke judges must attend one of the stroke clinics offer through SHRSL. Monitors swimmers to ensure each stroke is being performed correctly. Also, Monitor for false starts on relays.

Score Keeper

Tallies & records results of races. Tallies scores of meet. Ensures that Head Coach gets a copy of final score cards.

Sorter

Sorts time sheets from runner, separating by team and age/event. Passes slips to recorder.

Recorder

Compares event time sheets to find finishing place of swimmers.

Runner

Gathers time cards from timers.

Ribbons

Organizes and distributes ribbons to swimmers.

Team Party Co-Coordinator

Clean-up (All Families)

Will be divided up alphabetically for each home meet. Clean-up requires staying 10-15 minutes after meet is over to pick-up grounds.
